It’s a great headline for Christie to be ahead, even by one point, but it won’t last. I saw a funny story about how some of the bigwigs in Iowa’s evangelical wing, people like Bob Vander Platts were desperate to have Christie compete in Iowa. Now, the idea that a Huckabee supporting evangelical is begging Christie to compete in the state goes to show how close Iowa is to being irrelevant or a joke. Everyone knows that more moderate/nonevangelical candidates do not perform well in Iowa. Heck, Romney lost the caucuses by 8 votes to a candidate as weak as Rick Santorum for heaven’s sake.

To Governor Christie: remember the words of Admiral Ackbar “it’s a trap!”

Ah, how the once mighty have fallen. Such are the ebbs and flows (and fickle voters).

It’s probably going to come down to how Rand Paul does in IA and NH. If Rand can win IA, he can survive into SC and still challenge Chris. If Rand can win NH, Chris is in real trouble.

He is also ahead of Clinton in IA based on this poll.

  5. Right Wingnut

No Jeb Bush in the poll. Guess who that helps?

  6. Rand Cruz

390 people surveyed, almost 6% margin of error. Garbage poll.

  7. Huckafan

The fact that Santorum still polls 11% in Iowa means a strong conservative with name recognition like Mike Huckabee would be an instant leader in the State. I am enjoying seeing a candidate (Christie) take the lead over Hilary in numerous states but think that we will just have another 2012 where right wing socons stay home because they don’t have a passion for the candidate. Gotta be some way to pair Christie with a socon on the ticket and reunite the party. I am not a Christie fan at all, but I want to win.
