Rasmussen Generic Congressional Ballot Survey

  • Republicans 40%
  • Democrats 39%

The national telephone survey of 3,500 Likely Voters was conducted by Rasmussen Reports from May 13-19, 2013. The margin of sampling error for the survey is +/- 2 percentage point with a 95% level of confidence.

    Is this the first time in a long time that Republicans are tied or ahead in this poll? It seems like it’ been forever.

    This is the first one I’ve seen since the election to show Republicans ahead. You’d be wise to take good news from Ras with a healthy grain of salt however.

    Rasmussen had them ahead in one last month too.

    Most of the polls showing that Democrats had a decent lead in the generic ballot a few months ago were run by Rasmussen too. So it’s basically one poll tightening.
